Day Three

Well, it seems that every day I have less and less time to go to the shows. I'm sad about this because i actually enjoy them. Anyway, today I got to see Jo Bithume again, so here it goes:

Jo Bithume : La Fanfare

Flutes, Trompets, Saxofons, percussion and a lot of humour would be the best description I could give you of this presentation.

Whether they were good musicians prettending being bad or bad prettending being good didnt matter, people laughed their asses off

Day Two

Today, unfotunately, I could only assist to two shows, the first by a french group and the second an uptight overpriced dinner with pieces and elements of minor shows, nevertheless interesting.

Ex Nihilo : Calle Obrapia #4

Group of frenchies, doing a lot of physical expression. Acompanied by recorded radio and electric guitars. Energetic presentation that kept the audience on their seats.


Displaying an impressive physical strength


Kept even children awed


The public kept admiring their feats


Even when their expressions where a bit orthodox


People did everything to have an eye on them

They converted asfalt into walls and walls into dance floors


Even though it exhausted them


And yet they couldnt stop ...


Everything bound together with bohemia


It made at least me watch things in a slightly different way


And so they said goodbye

Various : Open Stage


Bunch of short presentations, in the courtyard of the Joaneum. For a different kind of taste. Meant to be enjoyed sitted with a glass of prosecco and in a romantic-yet-funny evening with your loved one.

Look at this so you have an idea of how the thing was. In this case the master-o-ceremony is playing some old LP music. That was actually quite sweet.


The Nihilo people did another presentation for our entertainment


These singer-comediants were rather funny, even though i didnt understand all they said, the rest of the public seemed to enjoy it tho


And although most of the public was an older crowd, I did get to find a nest of young bitchy itchy pseudo trendy austrians =]


An interesting show if you dislike big crowds and you enjoy the calm music. I hope you enjoyed the pics.

Day one, or rather day four

Well, one more year and LaStrada just started here in Graz. It actually began last friday (being today monday) but I wasnt able to assist unfortunately. I am particularly fond of this festival as a picture of it earned me a digital camera and another one a Daily Deviation in deviantArt.

Anyway, I will try to keep this blog as short-texted as possible (since i dont want to type that much) and focus a bit more on the pics. I would like to submit them to dA but that place is truly a mess lately, so I may post a few there, but most will go here.

Please forgive my lack of artistic taste for the actual presentations, I focused more on the visual and graphic side of them.

La Guarda Flamenca: Anda la Banda

Group of Falmenco Dancers and musicians. Very colorful, very full of life, very funny. I am unsure if they are comediants or dancers, but most likely both. I snapped pictures indiscrimantely as I thought everything was worth capturing.

Théâtre Rouge : Avec Fraternité

I am not sure what the hell this was, but it was definitely an interesting show. Very expressive, scary at times, cute at others. And it surely made people feel connected with the actors.

But at the end an intimate moment, when a member of the public cried under so much emotion. I felt a bit dirty for photographing this moment, but i had to.

Compagnie Jo Bithume : La Fanfare

Unfortunately I didnt get any good pics from the show itself, it was way too crowded, however, i hope i can catch them the rest of the week. It was a fun show with lots of musicians and comedy shorts. Heheheh, listening to the translation from french to german was hilarious.

People wanted to see the show, no matter from where


I couldnt see anything!


Except the shadow of what was going on


Maybe is because im short


But this won the price for the best perspective


If anybody is in Graz this week, or in Austria for that matter, dont miss this festival, is worth it.
